Golf GT Sport

Volkswagon has a few very popular cars.  The Jetta may be the most popular, but you also see a lot of Golf GT Sport cars out on the streets too.  They're awesome little cars.

The Golf GT Sport has come a long way since it's beginning (such as almost all of Volkswagons most popular makes).  I remember 30 years ago when you could get a brand new Golf for little of nothing.  Not any more.  Volkswagon is well aware of the quality it produces, and knows that its consumers know as well too.  I've been a big fan of Volkswagon over the years.

Anyways, the Golf GT Sport is a combination of the Golf Gt and Golf Sport.  It was a new model as of 2007, and continues to be one of Volkswagons more popular makes. 

So what are some of the biggest options and features to choose from?  Volkswagon's Turbo Diesel Injection system is extremely popular, and it offers a 2.0L TDI engine for the Golf GT Sport.  This is more expensive then the alternative, a 1.4L TSI.  Each engine is available in either 140hp or 170hp.  Both engines come with either a DSG transmission (Volkswagons version of Automatic) or a 5 speed manual transmission.  Three-door and five-door bodies are available to choose from, and 17-inch alloys decorate the wheels. 

The Golf GT Sport is a technical powerhouse.  You can't find many compact hatchbacks that can match this.  The only thing I can think of is a full-blow Golf GTI.  The Golf GT Sport is supposed to be a liter version of the GTI, and is made to be more affordable.  As such, there isn't much of a drop off to speak of.  The Golf GT Sport is an EXTREMELY fast little car, and it handles like a race car.

I test drove one of these, and this was the most fun that I've had in quite awhile.  Try driving one sometime, and you'll see what I mean.  This car has insane exceleration and it handles even better.  I've noticed that Volkswagon makes the best handling vehicles on the market.  The Golf GT Sport is no exception to this rule.

It's awesome to see auto-makers making cars like this.  You don't often come across a car with tremendous performance that can run for hours off of fumes.  This car will probably get you nearly 40 miles per gallon on the open highway, and that is just amazing.  I am definitely thinking of seriously buying a Golf GT Sport in the very near future.
