First year anniversary gifts

There are quiet a few things you can choose from when getting a couple their first anniversary gift.  You can go with the traditional wedding gifts for their first year anniversary.  There is also a modern version of the anniversary gift list that you can also get them.  Depending on what you want to do, and what you thing they would like, using your imagination on either versions will make great gifts for whatever they would like.

The traditional first year anniversary gift is something to do with paper, this could be anything.  Although money being made out of paper would be considered thoughtless, and might make the couple think that you didn't look for anything and just got them money.  You can get them something like a wedding journal, that way they can write down things that have happened as they happen as a couple.  Another good thing would be a wedding picture that you may have taken at their wedding and that they haven't seen.  It's paper and you can get any kind of frame that you think would look good somewhere in their house.  Another idea that might be good and they would get use out of would be magazine subscriptions of things they like to do.  Like their hobbies, or something they both are interested in.

The modern day first year anniversary gift is a clock.  You have a more choices with this gift.  You can get them a specialized clock with their names on it, the day they were married.  You have hundreds of styles to choose from, and just as many sizes.  You can get something to fit in their house that will remind them where they got it every time they look at it.  Another good thing about buying a clock for their anniversary would be that you can still get a great clock for a decent price.  And if you have the time you can even build them a clock.  They have kits you can order online that send you all the pieces you need for a clock.  You can put it together and paint it yourself, this will add a little bit of you to your gift and not just some cookie cutter clock that you found in the store.  There will be no one that will have a clock just like this one.  And they will love it since it came from you, and you took the time to make something and not just buy it.

If you don't think they will like either one of these gift ideas, you can always just buy them something.  If you do buy them something though make sure it is something that they can do together.  Like a spa package, or if you have the money you can get them a second honeymoon.  They would love it and know that you put a lot of thought and heart into your gift.  If those items might be a little to much for you, you can always just get them a gift certificate to a nice restaurant to eat at.
